Q:  I have an older version of AcuBase.  Can I move my data over to the new version?

A:  Yes, if you are already using AcuBase Pro 2.003 or later and wish to upgrade, click here for upgrade info.

 

Q:  What are the system requirements for running the new version of AcuBase Pro?

A:  

Macintosh 

Windows 

  • 32-bit machine only
  • Macintosh computer with a PowerPC G3, G4, G5 processor or Intel processor
  • 256MB of RAM
  • CD or DVD drive and hard disk drive
  • PowerPC processor requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 (Panther) or 10.4.5 (Tiger). Intel processor requires Mac OS X 10.4.5
  • 32-bit machine only
  • Pentium III 500MHz or higher
  • 256MB of RAM
  • CD or DVD drive and hard disk drive
  • SVGA (800 x 600) or higher resolution video adapter and display
  • Windows 2000,  Windows XP, or Vista.

 

Q:  Is the new AcuBase Pro networkable?

A:  Yes!  You can run it on one machine, up to 5 machines without a server, or up to 250 computers with a server.  See the pricing section at the end of this FAQ for details.

 

Q:  Does the new AcuBase Pro work in Windows Vista?

A:  Yes.  We recommend that you install it to the desktop, though, for easy updating when program updates come out. 

Q:  I understand that there is an annual renewal fee.  What’s that about?

A:  By having an annual renewal fee, we can continually upgrade and update the program and simply send everyone the latest updates, fixes, and files without having to charge for them each time.  It also allows us to standardize support, and to afford to hire support and technical staff to keep the program current and of the highest quality.  Annual renewal fees are standard practice for high quality, mission-critical software.  The annual relicense is significantly less than the cost of the program. The Preferences/General screen in AcuBase will let you know that date by which you need to renew, and annual renewal fee/relicense will be available from this Purchase link on our website so that you may get it quickly and easily when it’s time without stopping your work flow. AcuBase Pro Pricing

The price of the program includes 4 free support calls per year, as well as our frequent updates and upgrades as they become available.  Additional support calls will follow our current price of $35 per call.  Comprehensive, unlimited support contracts are also available ($195 for single computer licensed users; $395 for networks). AcuBase Pro software prices are as follows:

Single-Computer Price$695, with an annual renewal fee of $295 after first year.
Upgrade Price$495 to upgrade from 2003 and older Pro versions. Annual renewal fee of $295 after first year.
*Networked Versions

Up to five users simultaneously logged into program peer-to-peer or up to ten users from a server:  $895.  Annual renewal fee of $495 after first year.  

10 --> 250 user license:  $1,495.  Annual renewal fee of $995 after first year. 

*Note that for five or fewer users, you will need to buy a copy of FileMaker Pro 8.5 for each machine running AcuBase over the network.  Six or more simultaneous users must run AcuBase Pro from a server, and buy FileMaker Server, as well as a copy of FileMaker Pro 8.5 for each workstation.  For more on FileMaker and pricing, click here to visit their website.
