Medical practices rely on ‘happy’ returning patients, but they also thrive on new clientele. Patient referrals are a great way to increase sales and eliminate a lot of marketing expense. Referral methods can build your level of satisfied patients. Go beyond the thought that simply providing a great experience creates word of mouth to enhance your business. There are techniques that increase recommendations and ultimately generate more business.
1) Start with implementing a referral tracking system. Have a referral link on your website or print out referral cards. Keep the cards in the office waiting area and mail them out included in brochures or welcome letters; can also create little tear out cards in the welcome pre-set patient emails.
2) Give them a reason to refer. Have some type of a rewards program. If a customer refers 5 people, offer them a free treatment or a discount on one.
3) Show your clients that you care. We are definitely in a world of paperless technology, but send a handwritten card or thank you note a long with the usual emails. It is more personable.
4) React quickly to inquiries. Make sure to respond swiftly to the interested. They will appreciate the individual care and attention and maybe entice them to start referring sooner than later.
Start with these straightforward steps to creating a successful referral program. It will not only increase the success of your practice, also minimize advertising costs.
