Keeping up with the Trends for your Practice

Naturally as a therapist, you are constantly researching the latest in your field, exploring different studies and products to benefit your patients.  You may be involved in a community group focusing on the local alternatives to therapy.  While all of this is inherently beneficial, another enlightening experience may be attending a symposium here and there.  These events can draw in many innovative approaches to your practice and it’s a great place to meet others likewise that you wouldn’t have met close to home or on the internet.  Choosing the right conference is key to your needs.

After attending the Pacific Symposium recently that focused on new approaches in Acupuncture and other therapies; the energy and education after attending for two and half days was astounding.  Depending on your availability, leave some room in your schedule for the lectures and workshops.  They’re valuable and conducive to continuing education.  Attending small classroom events is yet another great opportunity to connect with the highly specialized.  The last conference had the latest technologies to benefit patients and your practice management.  There were many different herbal remedy and dietary supplement companies handing out samples and educational material on their product.  I also enjoyed chatting it up with an acupuncture marketing company:  creative print brochures to have for patients in the office and other promotional materials.

Going to such an event where there’s a plethora of businesses catering to improving and continuing education related to your practice is incredibly constructive.  You have every realm in one setting, opposed to attending several small events which hint only on a few areas.  Not that those aren’t incredibly positive as well.   For more information on attending conferences in alternative or holistic therapy, try www.holisticnetworker.com or check out alternative therapy publications such as “Alternative Therapy in Health & Medicine.”  There are so many resources available online and/or through print publications to lead you to an innovative and appropriate conference setting.
