Updating Your AcuBase Pro Files -- Very Specific Instructions for PC Users

On a PC, if you HAVE NOT set password into your program, here is how to download the update. If you have set up an account and password, please refer to step 1. of the instructions on website first (View Update Directions PDF).

First make sure that you have backed up your entire Acubase Pro+ folder on a Cd or flash drive or zip disk.  Also make sure that when you last closed Acubase, you had it run a backup (internal backup).

Now go to My computer, C drive, Program Files, Trigram Software and finally double-click on your Acubase Pro+ folder.  In there you will see lots of files and an UPDATE folder.  Next you will drag the following files to the Update folder: AcubasePro.USR, AcubaseCalendar.USR and LogFile.USR.  Sometimes these files may not show the USR extension, if in your case they don’t, look for the icon in front of the Logfile or AcubaseCalendar, it should be the very same icon in front of the AcubasePro file (view list as Icon for better viewing).

(You will notice another AcubasePro file and its icon is different, it looks like an open blue and gray folder: DO NOT drag that file in Update folder.)

To drag files: simply click on file and hold down the mouse while moving it to the Update folder.  The Update folder will highlight when it’s over it and you can then let go of mouse.

Once all three files are in there, minimize the screen and let’s go to next step.

Click on the version you are using and, when the download screen pops up, click on Save and on the next pop-up screen, choose your desktop as location to save to.  Once file has downloaded to your desktop, right click on it and Extract All (or unzip or expand whatever the choices are to unzip).  The unzip wizard will pop up and follow instructions (next, next…).  It will extract files to same location: desktop.  At end of extraction, it will show you the extracted files.  Select all three USR files by holding down the CTRL key on your keyboard while selecting files.  Then go to Edit and Copy.
