What Else Is On The CD?
In addition to the AcuBase Pro program files, you will also find: A directory / folder called “Documentation” This directory contains an Adobe PDF file of all of the instructions available in this user’s manual, as well as a free, installable copy of Adobe Acrobat for users who do not already have the program on their computer. Double-click on either file to run it.
A second PDF file called “NewCMSForm” gives the official instructions on the latest CMS 1500 form direct from the people who created it. This is the document we used to determine how all fields should look on the CMS form.
There is also a document called “Passwords”. This text document hold the default program passwords for all default user accounts that come with AcuBase Pro. Once you are using the program, you may change those passwords by logging in as Manager. Trigram Software will charge a fee to unlock the program if you have changed your passwords and subsequently forgotten them.
A directory / folder called “HIPAA.” This directory contains free forms in order to help your office to become HIPAA-compliant. Most documents have an explanatory document that tells what it is for, and most documents will also be set up so that you may personalize them for your practice. Note that, while Trigram Software gives out these forms for free, we do not provide any kind of support on their use, as we do not purport to be experts on HIPAA-related policy. HIPAA law may also change over time, and these documents may no longer be necessary or appropriate.
Trigram Software has a free online program from which you and/or your staff may take an online HIPAA primer to learn more about HIPAA policies and procedures. The online primer is free to use and takes up to a half hour to go through. It is approved for California State and NCCAOM continuing education for acupuncturists, for which you will need to pay $39.95 at the end of the course for a Certificate of Completion. Check out our website at Trigram.com for more information.
A directory / folder called “Library”, which contains a free modifiable library of herbs, formulas, acupoints, drug-herb interactions, and other items you may enter yourself. To install this program, simply copy it onto your computer’s desktop or hard drive and double-click the “AcuBase Library” icon. Trigram Software will not provide support for this free product.
