Backing Up AcuBase on Your PC

In order to keep several copies of the program without writing over the night before you can do the following:

Put in your flashdrive and go to My computer.  Double left-click on your flashdrive.  Right click anywhere in blank space and go to New Folder.  Name that folder Acubase Monday.  Repeat this process 4 more times and name each folder respectively Tuesday, Wed, Thursday and Friday.  Now you should have these 5 folders on your flashdrive.

Before you back up, make sure that Acubase is CLOSED

1) To Backup:

Put in your flashdrive. 

Go to My Computer and double left-click on your C drive.

Then double left-click on Program Files.

Then double left-click on the Trigram Software folder.

You should now see your Acubase Pro+ folder (Or Acubase Pro depending on your version).  Right click on it and go to Copy.

Now go back to My computer (you should see it on left hand side of your screen or simply click on back arrow).  Then go to your flashdrive, and choose the right folder of the week, double left-click on it then right click and Paste. (the second time you’ll paste let’s say in the Acubase Monday folder it will tell you that this folder already exist there and would you like to replace?  Say yes to all)  

2) To retrieve the info from backup:

Put in the flashdrive with backup.  Go to My Computer, double-click on your flashdrive and you should see the Acubase Pro+ folder.  Double-click on the Acubase Pro+ folder and you should now see all the files inside the folder.  Go to Edit and "Select All", then go back to Edit And "Copy".  Now go back to My Computer, then go to your C drive, double-click on the Program Files folder , then the Trigram Software folder and finally the Acubase Pro+ folder.  Again you should see all the files in here as well.  Go to Edit and hit "Paste".  You willl get a message window saying that these file already exist and do you want to replace all?  Hit "Yes to All".

That’s it! 

3) To Verify that you have backed up properly:

When you click on your flashdrive you should see the Acubase Pro+ folder.  If you double left-click on it you should see all the files inside of it.  You can actually try to open Acubase from your flashdrive by double left-clicking on the Acubase Pro executive file (icon is an open blue/white folder or orange/blue for Acubase Pro).

Right click on the Acubase Pro Networking folder on your Desktop and Copy

Then go to your flashdrive, double-click on it, go to the proper folder of the week (Acubase Monday, etc…) and Paste the Acubase Pro Networking folder inside of it.
