I have been running this older version of acubase (6.0v4) for some time. can I upgrade my mac (Intel 2.0 MacBookPro) to Leopard and still have the program work? have others run this version on Leopard OS X ?
I can’t speak to Acubase compatability issues and older versions but,The one problem that I found and the hard way ,by crashing and losing data is that leopard 10.5.2 rev runs on Filemaker 10.0v3 it will have problems with the 10.0 version. The updates make it compatable with leopard.
thanks for your quick response! so I take it that you were using the newer AcuBase Pro and then the latest AcuBase update fixed the problem? I hope you were able to recover your data.
I will not buy the newer version, I only use this program to print superbills and it is very costly now.
I know that we have several users who use the old version in Leopard, but we cannot guarantee it, as we no longer really support the old AcuBase(s). At the time that program was out, Leopard didn’t exist, and FileMaker had no way to officially be compatible w/it. Part of the reason for upgrades is simply because new database engines have to keep up with newer operating systems. That said, I’d try going for it, but you will need to upgrade at some point.
